Organisers

Our organisers have kindly donated their time, energy and code to running WordCamp Brisbane 2017 and we are grateful for their efforts.

Dion Hulse

Dion Hulse has has been involved with the WordPress community for almost 10 years, he’s now one of the 7 Lead Developers of the WordPress Project, working full time on WordPress and it’s online presence.

Dion works for Automattic, who donates his (and others) time to the WordPress project, working remotely from both Brisbane and Northern NSW.

Cameron Jones

Cameron Jones is a developer based on the Gold Coast, best known as the author of the Facebook Page Plugin which is used by more than 20,000 websites. He also is one of the organisers of the WordPress Ipswich meetup and regularly speaks at other meetups, conferences and networking events.

Ricky Blacker

Ricky runs Data Guru, a small web design business based on Brisbane’s Northside, which develops sites for small to medium sized businesses, as well as doing Pro Bono work for not for profit groups.

He is a Co-Organiser for the Sunshine Coast WordPress, Brisbane WordPress and Brisbane North WordPress Meetup groups, and was an organiser of last years WordCamp Sunshine Coast.

Hannah Malcolm

Hannah is a designer & developer, having worked in Web Development since 2005 she moved to Matter Solutions in 2014 and began bringing her skills to their WordPress focused web team.

After working in various proprietary CMS she had a fresh perspective on WordPress and brings years of experience working with patterns that look good and make sense to developers for reuse. Having skills as both a designer and developer, she bridges the gaps many other teams experience.

Robert Wilde

Robert Wilde has worked in a wide range of technology roles over the past 20 years, repairing smelter control system at Comalco Aluminum, Sound, Lighting, DJ/MC in some the biggest nightclubs in Australia and several years as a Microsoft Systems Administrator, specialising in Remote Desktop and Virtualisation. His focus now is everything CLOUD, building custom solutions in WordPress and Microsoft SharePoint. He loves everything tech, has a major interest in Nuclear Engineering and teaching his son Full-Stack development.

Peter Bui

Peter is the project lead for many of the web design and development at PB Web Development. He also is a bit of a Joomla celebrity in that he is the voice of the Joomla Beat Podcast, a weekly podcast produced as a resource for the Joomla community.
